. The Shadow of Cicirega cattle ranch in Montana had humble beginnings. Neil had grown up on a small farm in Massachusetts and had always been drawn to the peaceful lifestyle that came with raising animals. On the other hand, Shadow had no experience with farming or ranching, but after a chaotic life on the run from the government, he found solace in the simplicity of farm life.

The two first crossed paths when Neil was vacationing in Wyoming and happened to run into Shadow, who was camping in the same area. After a few days of conversation and bonding over their love of animals and the outdoors, they decided to go into business together and start a cattle ranch in Montana.
